MY CBD Choices - CBD Oil and its Benefits

CBD Buyers Beware!

why-ctfo-cbd-oil

Did you know that over 70% of C.B.D HEMP Oils found in stores and online (especially, but not limited to, the less expensive ones) is, for lack of a better term, JUNK or as people call it “Snake Oil”?

As what is in the bottle doesn’t match the label. Many products that have been tested do not even have C.B.D in them. That is so sad that there are companies out there that only want to make a buck and do not care about the customer.

Following are a few reasons WHY CTFO offers the best products available.

  • INGREDIENTS.. there should not be more than two ingredients. C.B.D is so potent that it needs a carrier OIL to get it into your system without the liver flushing it out of our system. Also, a natural flavoring to offset the taste of C.B.D. We use pure phytocannabinoid rich HEMP OIL and a mild natural flavor. You don’t have to shake it and it does not need refrigeration.
  • ORGANIC… a pure, chemical free environment.
  • GMP CERTIFIED… Good Manufacturing Practices Certified. Meaning the government monitors all processes and ensures what the label says is exactly what’s in the bottle. Not all CBD companies qualify to carry this seal.
  • INDEPENDENT LAB CERTIFIED… and these reports should be readily available. Our C.B.D is tested three times by Different Independent Labs. Our Certified Lab Reports are readily available on our website and for the asking.
  • CRUELTY-FREE… no animal testing
  • NO THC… the government classifies 0.3% THC as zero THC. Depending on which product you buy from CTFO we have between 0.000% THC and 0.2% THC. Well below the government regulation.
  • GUARANTEE… We believe so strongly in the Purity and Quality of our products that they ALL carry a 60 DAY EMPTY BOTTLE REFUND GUARANTEE NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
  • 10XPURE… we are also the only company with a worldwide EXCLUSIVE & PATENTED 10xPURE C.B.D HEMP OIL. Studies show that CBDA has as many health benefits as C.B.D. And our 10xPure gets BOTH CBDA & C.B.D to areas of the body it needs to be in.
  • GROWN & MADE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA C.B.D HEMP OIL

MY CBD Choices - CBD Oil and its Benefits

What Is CBD?

What-is-CBD

I am asked almost every day, what is CBD and how does it work?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an organic, non-psychoactive therapeutic chemical compound that comes from CBDa (Cannabidioloc Acid), it is found in cannabis and belongs to a class of molecules called cannabinoids. Unlike the cannabinoid THC, CBD does not get you high and does not produce intoxication. CBD is one of many active cannabinoid chemicals found in the hemp plant (hemp plants are part of the Cannabis family but different than marijuana plants. CBD can be found in both plants but is more abundant in hemp) that targets specific receptors in the cells of your brain and body called the Endocannabinoid System.

CBD is referred to as a “smart” molecule, as it acts as an adaptogen, a regulator, and a modulator. Studies show CBD has a much broader impact on health than THC, as about 80% of the health benefits of medical marijuana can be attributed to CBD.

CBD is becoming increasingly popular among the masses for having a wide scope of medicinal benefits. Research has shown that nonpsychoactive therapeutic cannabidiol may be used for both the treatment and prevention for a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, addiction, inflammation and chronic pain, anxiety, schizophrenia and bipolar disorders, depression, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, CBD could even help treat acne.

Because you can’t get high with CBD, it is legal in all 50 states when it contains less than.3% THC, It is safe to consume, even in high doses, and is available without a prescription in all 50 states. For many people, CBD is becoming a healthy addition to their lives. I encourage you to do your own research, educate yourself, and then incorporate CBD into your daily life.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

People have been using cannabis as a medicinal herb for thousands of years. Despite its long history of use, our understanding of how it takes effect on a cellular level has only begun to develop very recently. The surface has only been scratched on what cannabinoids are, how they work, why they have such an affinity with the human body and mind, and how it possesses such an enormous number of potential health benefits.

Research on the medicinal benefits of cannabis has led to the discovery of a biochemical communication system in the human body called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). In the mid-1980s, a cell receptor for cannabinoids was discovered in the brain and central nervous system. It was appropriately named CB1 (cannabinoid receptor number 1). This discovery begged the question: why is there a receptor in the brain specifically for receiving the cannabinoid compounds found in cannabis? And, could it be that the CB1 receptor is actually there for receiving chemicals naturally present within the body? So the research expanded from only studying the cannabinoids in cannabis to looking for cannabinoid-like compounds produced within the human body that also acted on the CB1 receptor. Because the body’s own self-produced cannabinoids were endogenous, they were appropriated named “endocannabinoids.”

Eventually, a second receptor was found and named the CB2 receptor. Researchers speculate there may be a third cannabinoid receptor yet to be discovered. CB receptors are present throughout the whole body. CB1 receptors are predominately present in the brain and nervous system while CB2 receptors are more prevalent in the periphery of the body.

Endocannabinoids are believed to be integral to the immune system, mental function, stress management, as well as the body’s ability to achieve and maintain homeostasis. The endocannabinoid system is involved with regulating many basic functions of the human body, including appetite, metabolism, pain, sleep, mood, movement, memory and learning, immune function, inflammation, neuroprotection, cardiovascular function, and digestion, to name a few. Besides maintaining basic functions, the endocannabinoid system also acts in response to illness. But through stress, toxicity, poor diet, and lifestyle choices, there is a very real possibility that we can develop an endocannabinoid deficiency, meaning that the function of the endocannabinoid system may become impaired. This is why supplementing your diet with therapeutic cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant is wise and can be very beneficial, giving the body what it needs to heal itself and support the homeostatic process.

What is CTFO?

Changing The Future Outcome (CTFO) is a 3-year-old company based out of California that is committed to offering the highest quality, lowest priced and most effective CBD based products on the market.

What is unique about CTFO CBD?

Not all hemp is created equal and not all extraction methods produce the same quality. CTFO CBD is made from both the CBD isolate along with the full spectrum whole plant hemp oil. This combination provides a much higher potency of CBD while maintaining over 120 other cannabinoids and more than 400 phytonutrients that exist in the hemp plant, all of which have health benefits. CTFO’s extraction technology allows for the extraction of all of these nutrients, without using any heat or harmful solvents. The result is a whole food with exceptional nutritional qualities.

CTFO CBD is made from non-GMO, pesticide-free, CO2 extracted hemp oil using only organic ingredients. All CTFO products are manufactured in the USA in a registered GMP, cruelty-free facility. CTFO sources their hemp from Industrial Hemp farms that are fully compliant with the State Department of Agriculture regulations. These farms use only the best, highest quality, organic hemp. CTFO CBD delivers the purest and highest quality CBD, along with over 400 other phytonutrients, in a naturally synergistic, easy-to-use and easy-to-absorb form.

CTFO also has an exclusive 10x Pure CBD Oil. This amazing new patented product transports all natural and non-processed full spectrum oil throughout the bloodstream. As a result, it dramatically increases both potency and absorption into the body. The 10X Pure process removes the membrane from the oil molecule to create a covalent (molecular) bond, with all of the cannabinoids that our CBD Oil contains. In other words, the 10X Pure removes the entire oily film that surrounds the outside of each and every CBD molecule. This immediately exposes the molecule itself so it can penetrate any impenetrable cell. Currently, no other process or technology can do this!

Healthy Coffee Lifestyles, Joe Medrano

Joe Medrano | Healthy Lifestyles | Cooking With Coffee | Recipe

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES…  In my last couple blog posts I discussed the health benefits of drinking and cooking with coffee. Coffee is high in antioxidants which are good for you. As I mentioned, I was going to begin testing and creating new recipes PJs Logo 2-19 Croppedutilizing PJ’s Roasted Bean Coffee as an ingredient and posting those recipes here on my blog.

I discussed this project with a couple close friends, who like me love to cook. I asked them if they wanted to join me on this journey and create a cookbook with me, utilizing coffee as an ingredient in all of the recipes. They were excited and are on board with the project. As my blog homepage states, life is about the journey and trying new things. Living Xtreme.  Now, although I have already written and published a book that was a #1 New Release on Amazon.com in the Risk Management Section (Non-Profit Guidance for the Non-Profit Board Member), I have never published a cookbook.

We will be testing and creating both healthy and not so healthy recipes. However, all of them will be tasty and easy to make. We may include a few recipes that are a bit more complicated, but for the most part they will be recipes you can make every day of the week. There will be appetizers, dressings for salads and marinades, rubs for vegetables and meats, desserts, cookies, ice cream and more.

I tested and created the first recipe this weekend. It happens to be a healthy recipe. I figured we should start with something healthy and a little different and that most people wouldn’t think of doing.  I didn’t want to do something obvious like Tiramasou. I wanted to try and peak your interest. So I hope you like it.

The first recipe is a rub for roasted vegetables. It was fun trying different combinations of spices and vegetables to see what worked best. Now you will notice I did not include potatoes in this recipe and that was intentional. I will be providing another recipe that includes fingerling potatoes and brussel sprouts and maybe some sweet potatoes.

I will be posting a picture with each recipe. I will also post a brief discussion on things I tried and why I determined the ingredients I did over others that are listed in each recipe. I hope you will join me on this journey in a culinary adventure of unique and tasty cuisine.

While I will be using different ingredients, the one ingredient that will be the same in all of our recipes is coffee, and not just any coffee.

The coffee we will be using in our recipes is from PJ’s Roasted Bean Coffee Company. The beans used are quality, AA Arabica beans. But more importantly, the coffee beans are infrared roasted by Healthy Coffee Lifestyles.Infrared roastedbeans are never bitter, never burnt, always smooth and have a much fuller flavor. They also produce a lower acidic flavor allowing those with stomach sensitivities to also enjoy the coffee. It makes Healthy Coffee Lifestyles coffee, the perfect ingredient in our recipes.

First Recipe!

Coffee Roasted Veggies with Chili
Serves 6-8

Vegetables:
1 Pound of Broccoli cut into large bite size pieces
1/2 Pound of Baby Carrots or Regular Carrots sliced into 2″ to 3″ pieces
1 Red Onion
6-8 Cloves of Garlic (or more if you like roasted garlic)

1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Teaspoon Black Pepper
1/2 to 1 Teaspoon Thyme – (1/2 Dried – 1 Fresh)

Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2-3 Tablespoons (or enough to coat veggies to your liking)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F

Chop the veggies and put into a large bowl. Combine the ingredients of the spice rub in a small bowl and mix well.

Coat the vegetables with the olive oil and then add the mixed spice rub in and mix the vegetables, olive oil and spice rub together.

Once the vegetables are coated well, place in a single layer on a baking sheet or pan and roast for 25-35 minutes. (Depending on your oven)

That’s it. Pretty simple but very tasty.

When I was experimenting with a few different batches, I tried cauliflower and zucchini and red bell peppers as well.  I was not thrilled with the cauliflower but I did like the zucchini and red bell pepper. I did not include the bell pepper in the final recipe as many people do not like bell peppers and the zucchini came out a bit soft. Again, this is more of a consistency preference than taste. But by all means you could include it in your dish.

I hope you find this as interesting and tasty as I did.  If you want to add even more flavor, put these at the bottom of a roasting pan underneath a whole chicken that you are roasting and let the drippings from the chicken meld into the vegetables.  Yum! Not as healthy, but very tasty.

Please feel free to use this recipe for your own personal use or to forward this blog to your friends and family, but please do not copy and republish this recipe or any other recipe I post, as they will be going into our cookbook that will be published in about 6 months once we have tested and created several recipes. Thank you!

If you would like to see more recipes and what we create over the next few months, please follow my blog.

Joe Medrano | Cooking with Coffee | Healthy Coffee Lifestyles | Antioxidants

Did you know that coffee is a great source for antioxidants? Americans get more PJs Logo 2-19 Croppedantioxidants from coffee than from any other source of food. And if you drink your coffee black with no cream or sugar, coffee can be a good can be a good way to help give your health a little guilt free boost.

Now even though there are over 400 billion cups of coffee consumed every year around the world, not everybody likes to drink black coffee.  So how can you get the benefits of the high antioxidants in coffee? By cooking with it. There have been many great recipes created over the years that utilize brewed black coffee, whole beans and/or ground coffee.

But why should you care about antioxidants? What do they do? Antioxidants, help cells in your body from being oxidized by toxins, chemicals and inflammation. They can help with the management or prevention of some medical conditions, such as some cancers, arthritis-related conditions, and may even help with slowing Alzheimer’s disease.

Most people think about the health benefits they get from drinking coffee, not eating the coffee bean. You can actually get more antioxidants from eating coffee grounds than drinking coffee. Now I am not suggesting you should start buying coffee and just eat the Healthy Coffee Lifestyles, Joe Medrano, Benefits of Coffee, antioxidantsgrounds instead of making coffee.

What I am suggesting is, if you haven’t already, you should consider trying to cook with coffee. While there are a lot of recipes out there using coffee in deserts, there are also plenty of recipes for savory and healthy foods as well.

I have been trying different coffee recipes out and making modifications to some and also trying them with different types of coffee beans. And yes, believe it or not, some recipes you can tell the difference in flavor depending on the bean.

Being a coffee lover, I do have a preference for AA Arabica beans. AA Arabica beans have a fragrant aroma and rich body. And at PJ’s Roasted Bean Coffee Company we infrared roast the beans so the beans are never bitter, never burnt, always smooth and have a fuller flavor.

I know I sound like I am talking about wine (which I am a big fan of as well), but if you haven’t noticed, coffee has come along way and their are more specialty coffee companies popping up all over. You will find many coffee shops have tasting notes on their various coffees just like a fine wine.

However, approximately only 2% of coffee is infrared roasted worldwide because the process to roast costs a little more for coffee companies. We infrared roast all of our coffee because we believe in providing better coffee to our clients so they can provide a better cup of coffee to their customers.

We also believe in a healthy lifestyle and the infrared roasting process helps the coffee have higher antioxidants.

Over the next few weeks some of my blog posts will start containing recipes utilizing coffee in them. Some will be healthy, some will be less healthy, but all will be really good, especially the ones for those of us with a sweet tooth.

I might even include some videos. I hope you will join me on my continued journey of discovery of coffee, its health benefits, and living a healthy lifestyle. You might even see a recipe or two that you like.

And remember:

“Once you wake up and smell the coffee, it’s hard to go back to sleep.”

Joe Medrano | Eat Right Not Less | Xtreme Healthy Lifestyles

Most people worry more about how much they eat instead of eating right. I am guilty of that myself. I admit I have a sweet tooth, but I am learning to control that. I am also working on eating healthier meals.Joe Medrano, XHLstyle, Xtreme Healthy Lifestyles

I am learning more and more that diet sodas and artificial sweeteners are not good for you and cause faster weight gain than had I consumed a regular soda.

Using Xtreme Healthy Lifestyles Sweet Infused Sweetener is just one way that has been helping me lose weight and feel better.

Many of us would like to lose weight but we do not want to adhere to a program. Diet is a four letter word and not a good one. 🙂

I have found that trying to lose weight on your own can be difficult. Find a friend or someone you can work with to lose weight together. You can help motivate and encourage each other on a daily basis even after you reach your goals.

You have to change your mindset to think about living a healthy lifestyle. Living a healthy lifestyle does not mean dieting all the time, or losing weight only to put it back on months later. It also does not mean, depriving yourself of those foods and drinks that you enjoy. It means moderating how much of it you put into your body.

You may eat less of the bad food but you can replace some of it with food that is good for you. The important thing is to moderate so you do not feel you are depriving yourself. If you feel like you are depriving yourself, you will most likely fail and put the weight back on.

There is no perfect weight or body size. The important thing is to be healthy and feel good about yourself no matter what.

How can you start living a healthier lifestyle? Here are a few steps:

  1. Change Your Mindset
  2. Set Attainable Goals
  3. Set Up a Support System
  4. Make Healthier Choices – Eat Right Not Less
  5. Start Moving – Sweat is good
  6. Most Importantly – Stick With It!

If you “fall off the wagon” it’s okay. Just brush yourself off and get right back up. Remember, you are working on a long-term healthy lifestyle not a short term diet or phase.

You may have one of those weekends or weeks where you put on a few pounds. We all do it. Just get back in to your healthy routine (without making it feel like a routine) and you will be fine.

If you are looking to lose weight and would like some motivation, you can join Xtreme Healthy Lifestyles 90 Day Challenge (The Challenge) and try to win the vacation of your dreams.

Joe | Healthy Coffee Lifestyles | Is Coffee Healthy?

CNN just published an article on the health benefits of coffee. The article was based on a Joe Medrano, Healthy Coffee Lifestylesstudy posted on Science Daily from the European Society of Cardiology.

New research suggests that drinking four cups of coffee each day can be part of a healthy diet in healthy people.

Over the years there have been many studies and reports that drinking coffee can be beneficial.

The American Heart Association once reported that, people who regularly drank moderate amounts of coffee daily –less than 5 cups per day — experienced a lower risk of deaths from cardiovascular disease, neurological diseases, Type 2 diabetes and suicide. The benefit held true for drinking caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee, suggesting it’s not just the caffeine providing health perks but possibly the naturally occurring chemical compounds in the coffee beans.

We know coffee can be beneficial for us to drink daily. But what most of us do is add cream, sugar, sweeteners, and more which can offset the benefits of the coffee.

Who likes to drink their coffee black?  Many less people than those who prefer to have a latte, mocha or some other sugary drink.  Part of the reason people add so many different additives to their coffee is because they do not like the taste of plain black coffee.

Infrared Roasting vs Conventional Roasting

Standard Commercial roasting puts the beans on a flat screen conveyor which roasts the beans by blowing flame heated hot air from below. Another method is to place the beans in a tumbler and then blow the flame heated, hot air through as they tumble. Both methods, however, will allow the flame to possibly burn the beans and/or to not cook them evenly and all the way through.Infrared Roasted Tasting, Joe Medrano, Healthy Coffee Lifestyles

Infrared roasting brings out the desired flavor and aroma in the coffee bean. Infrared roasting technology leads to lower acidity levels, an evenly roasted bean, and completely eliminates a burnt or bitter coffee taste.

Infrared roasting is a better method to roast coffee, but only about 2% of coffee is infrared roasted. In addition to providing a better tasting coffee, infrared roasting also reduces the acidity in coffee allowing people with more sensitive stomachs to enjoy a cup of coffee.

During the coffee-roasting process, natural coffee acids form which can lead to heartburn, indigestion and upset stomach. Reducing these irritants through infrared roasting can allow coffee drinkers with sensitive stomachs to enjoy coffee.

The important thing is, coffee can be beneficial to your health and should be part of your Xtreme Healthy Living Lifestyle. For a better tasting coffee, try and find somewhere that uses beans that have been infrared roasted.

Healthy Coffee Lifestyles in Livermore California is a commercial coffee roaster that only uses infrared technology. Currently they sell coffee to restaurants, non-profits and other commercial companies, but will soon be expanding to offer a coffee club for individuals to have superior tasting infrared roasted coffee delivered directly to their home.

If you would like to be notified when Healthy Coffee Lifestyles begins their coffee club please complete the information below:
